3.27 ScrambledWordLibrary as a Decorator

Juppies 2 by Dr Heinz M. Kabutz

Our ScrambledWordLibrary now needs to extend the abstract DecoratedWordLibrary class, rather than implement the WordLibrary interface. If you would like to learn more about design patterns, be sure to check out my Java Design Patterns Course.

In the NetBeans version we were using for the recording, we did not see the place in the IDE where we needed to add the call to the superclass' constructor. IntelliJ IDEA does show it, so we make the change there. Fortunately it is fairly easy to change between different IDEs, allowing us to take advantage of whatever the best tool is for the job we are trying to do.

In our methods getWord(), getScrambledWord() and getSize(), instead of calling other.get...(), we now instead call super.get...().
